I’m so excited to share my recent feature in Penguin Post for my latest cookbook, “Modern Cape Malay Cooking.” As many of you know, I’m passionate about cooking and sharing the amazing flavours of my South African heritage. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share some of my favourite recipes with you all!
South African cuisine is a beautiful blend of different culinary traditions, and my cookbook draws inspiration from my own heritage to create dishes that are bold, flavorful, and unique. I’m especially proud to share some of my favourite local faves with you straight from the book.
First up, we have Crunchies, South African Breakfast Health Bars, a delicious oat and coconut cookie that’s perfect for snacking. Next, we have Feriel Sonday’s Heavenly Cape Malay Bollas, a sweet and fluffy treat that’s perfect for afternoon tea or dessert. And finally, we have Bobotie Royale, a modern twist on the classic South African dish that’s sure to impress.
I want to thank Penguin Post for featuring my cookbook and helping me spread the love of Cape Malay cooking. I hope these recipes inspire you to try something new in the kitchen and discover the amazing flavours of South Africa.
